Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!

有终日贪得无厌的；义人施舍而不吝惜。

有人终日贪得无餍，义人却施舍而不吝惜。

有人终日贪得无餍，义人却施舍而不吝惜。

懒人整天贪得无厌，义人施舍毫不吝啬。

他终日贪得无厌，但义人施予毫不吝啬。

All day long he craves for more, but the righteous give without sparing.

All day long they hunger for more. But godly people give without holding back.

All day long he craves and craves, but the righteous gives and does not hold back.

He is filled with craving all day long, but the righteous give and don’t hold back.

All day long he is craving, While the righteous gives and does not hold back.

He covets greedily all day long, But the righteous gives and does not spare.

There is that coveteth greedily all the day long; But the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.

He is filled with craving all day long, but the righteous give and don’t hold back.

There are those who covet greedily all day long; but the righteous give and don’t withhold.

The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing.

Never once did we try to win you with flattery, as you well know. And God is our witness that we were not pretending to be your friends just to get your money!As for human praise, we have never sought it from you or anyone else.As apostles of Christ we certainly had a right to make some demands of you, but instead we were like children among you. Or we were like a mother feeding and caring for her own children.We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.Don’t you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God’s Good News to you.

Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.Do to others as you would like them to do to you.“ If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them!And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, why should you get credit? Even sinners will lend to other sinners for a full return.“ Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.

They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor.

Since you excel in so many ways— in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us— I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.I am not commanding you to do this. But I am testing how genuine your love is by comparing it with the eagerness of the other churches.You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.

If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.

As the Scriptures say,“ They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.So two good things will result from this ministry of giving— the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you.

Give to those who ask, and don’t turn away from those who want to borrow.

“ I have never coveted anyone’s silver or gold or fine clothes.You know that these hands of mine have worked to supply my own needs and even the needs of those who were with me.And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus:‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
