“ Again you have heard that it was said to those of old,‘ You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’

“ If a person commits a trespass, and sins unintentionally in regard to the holy things of the Lord, then he shall bring to the Lord as his trespass offering a ram without blemish from the flocks, with your valuation in shekels of silver according to the shekel of the sanctuary, as a trespass offering.

And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the Lord.If a man wants at all to redeem any of his tithes, he shall add one-fifth to it.

‘ No outsider shall eat the holy offering; one who dwells with the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat the holy thing.But if the priest buys a person with his money, he may eat it; and one who is born in his house may eat his food.If the priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she may not eat of the holy offerings.But if the priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food; but no outsider shall eat it.‘ And if a man eats the holy offering unintentionally, then he shall restore a holy offering to the priest, and add one-fifth to it.They shall not profane the holy offerings of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,

“ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say,‘ In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts,“ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

‘ If it is an animal that men may bring as an offering to the Lord, all that anyone gives to the Lord shall be holy.He shall not substitute it or exchange it, good for bad or bad for good; and if he at all exchanges animal for animal, then both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy.

A fool’s mouth is his destruction, And his lips are the snare of his soul.
