Differing weights and differing measures— the Lord detests them both.

The Lord hates two things. He hates weights that weigh things heavier or lighter than they really are. He also hates measures that measure things larger or smaller than they really are.

Unequal weights and unequal measures are both alike an abomination to the Lord.

False weights and unequal measures— the Lord detests double standards of every kind.

Differing weights and varying measures— both are detestable to the LORD.

Differing weights and differing measures, Both of them are abominable to the Lord.

Diverse weights and diverse measures, They are both alike, an abomination to the Lord.

When will the Sabbath end, so we can open up the grain bins? We’re eager to sell less for a higher price, and to cheat the buyer with rigged scales!We’re eager to trade silver for the poor, a pair of sandals for the needy! We want to mix in some chaff with the grain!”The LORD confirms this oath by the arrogance of Jacob:“ I swear I will never forget all you have done!

You must not have in your bag different stone weights, a heavy and a light one.You must not have in your house different measuring containers, a large and a small one.You must have an accurate and correct stone weight and an accurate and correct measuring container, so that your life may be extended in the land the LORD your God is about to give you.

Honest scales and balances are from the LORD; all the weights in the bag are his handiwork.

“ I will not overlook, O sinful house, the dishonest gain you have hoarded away, or the smaller-than-standard measure I hate so much.I do not condone the use of rigged scales, or a bag of deceptive weights.

You must not do injustice in the regulation of measures, whether of length, weight, or volume.

But to the cowards, unbelievers, detestable persons, murderers, the sexually immoral, and those who practice magic spells, idol worshipers, and all those who lie, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. That is the second death.”

You must burn the images of their gods, but do not covet the silver and gold that covers them so much that you take it for yourself and thus become ensnared by it; for it is abhorrent to the LORD your God.You must not bring any abhorrent thing into your house and thereby become an object of divine wrath along with it. You must absolutely detest and abhor it, for it is an object of divine wrath.
