Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.

Wine causes you to make fun of others, and beer causes you to start fights. Anyone who is led astray by them is not wise.

Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

Wine produces mockers; alcohol leads to brawls. Those led astray by drink cannot be wise.

Wine is a mocker, intoxicating drink a brawler, And whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise.

Promiscuity, wine, and new wine take away one’s understanding.

It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine or for rulers to desire beer.

And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit:

Even these stagger because of wine and stumble under the influence of beer: Priest and prophet stagger because of beer. They are confused by wine. They stumble because of beer. They are muddled in their visions. They stumble in their judgments.

no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.

Woe to him who gives his neighbors drink, pouring out your wrath and even making them drunk, in order to look at their nakedness!You will be filled with disgrace instead of glory. You also— drink, and expose your uncircumcision! The cup in the LORD’s right hand will come around to you, and utter disgrace will cover your glory.

Now Absalom commanded his young men,“ Watch Amnon until he is in a good mood from the wine. When I order you to strike Amnon, then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Am I not the one who has commanded you? Be strong and valiant!”
