He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

He stores up success for honest people. He is like a shield to those who live without blame.

He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.

He stores up effective counsel for the upright, and is like a shield for those who live with integrity,

He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

This wisdom is not a wisdom that cometh down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, without hypocrisy.

Every word of God is tried: He is a shield unto them that take refuge in him.

For Jehovah God is a sun and a shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought.
