智慧必援救你遠離陌生婦人，遠離說諂媚話的外女；

這也是要解救你遠離淫婦，遠離說諂媚話的淫蕩女子——

維彼智慧、必援爾於淫婦、即諂言之外婦、

淫婦善媚、爾既守道、免為所惑、

明哲亦救爾脫於淫婦、脫於諂言之遊女、遊女原文作外女

Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words,

Wisdom will save you from a woman who commits adultery. It will save you from a sinful woman and her tempting words.

Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman.

It will rescue you from a forbidden woman, from a wayward woman with her flattering talk,

To rescue you from the strange woman, From the foreign woman who flatters with her words,

To deliver you from the immoral woman, From the seductress who flatters with her words,

To deliver thee from the strange woman, Even from the foreigner that flattereth with her words;

It will rescue you from a forbidden woman, from a stranger with her flattering talk,

To deliver thee from the strange woman,[ even] from the stranger[ which] flattereth with her words;

to deliver you from the adulteress, from the sexually loose woman who speaks flattering words;

to deliver you from the strange woman, even from the foreigner who flatters with her words,

to preserve you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress.

And I find something more bitter than death: the woman whose heart is snares and nets, and whose hands are fetters. He who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is taken by her.

For a prostitute is a deep pit; an adulteress is a narrow well.

to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words.For at the window of my house I have looked out through my lattice,and I have seen among the simple, I have perceived among the youths, a young man lacking sense,passing along the street near her corner, taking the road to her housein the twilight, in the evening, at the time of night and darkness.And behold, the woman meets him, dressed as a prostitute, wily of heart.She is loud and wayward; her feet do not stay at home;now in the street, now in the market, and at every corner she lies in wait.She seizes him and kisses him, and with bold face she says to him,“ I had to offer sacrifices, and today I have paid my vows;so now I have come out to meet you, to seek you eagerly, and I have found you.I have spread my couch with coverings, colored linens from Egyptian linen;I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love.For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey;he took a bag of money with him; at full moon he will come home.”With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him.All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fasttill an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.

His master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord caused all that he did to succeed in his hands.So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had, in house and field.So he left all that he had in Joseph’s charge, and because of him he had no concern about anything but the food he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.And after a time his master’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph and said,“ Lie with me.”But he refused and said to his master’s wife,“ Behold, because of me my master has no concern about anything in the house, and he has put everything that he has in my charge.He is not greater in this house than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?”And as she spoke to Joseph day after day, he would not listen to her, to lie beside her or to be with her.But one day, when he went into the house to do his work and none of the men of the house was there in the house,she caught him by his garment, saying,“ Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out of the house.

The mouth of forbidden women is a deep pit; he with whom the Lord is angry will fall into it.

For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil,but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path to Sheol;she does not ponder the path of life; her ways wander, and she does not know it.And now, O sons, listen to me, and do not depart from the words of my mouth.Keep your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house,lest you give your honor to others and your years to the merciless,lest strangers take their fill of your strength, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner,and at the end of your life you groan, when your flesh and body are consumed,and you say,“ How I hated discipline, and my heart despised reproof!I did not listen to the voice of my teachers or incline my ear to my instructors.I am at the brink of utter ruin in the assembled congregation.”Drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well.Should your springs be scattered abroad, streams of water in the streets?Let them be for yourself alone, and not for strangers with you.Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth,a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman and embrace the bosom of an adulteress?

A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such women? Among the many nations there was no king like him, and he was beloved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless, foreign women made even him to sin.Shall we then listen to you and do all this great evil and act treacherously against our God by marrying foreign women?”
