Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,

Wisdom will save you from the ways of evil men. It will save you from men who twist their words.

delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,

Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.

It will rescue you from the way of evil— from anyone who says perverse things,

To rescue you from the way of evil, From a person who speaks perverse things;

To deliver thee from the way of evil, From the men that speak perverse things;

rescuing you from the way of evil— from the one who says perverse things,

To deliver thee from the way of the evil[ man], from the man that speaketh froward things;

to deliver you from the way of the wicked, from those speaking perversity,

to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things,

Do not be deceived:“ Evil company corrupts good habits.”

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

Therefore“ Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, Nor will I go in with hypocrites.I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And will not sit with the wicked.

Concerning the works of men, By the word of Your lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer.Uphold my steps in Your paths, That my footsteps may not slip.

A perverse man sows strife, And a whisperer separates the best of friends.A violent man entices his neighbor, And leads him in a way that is not good.He winks his eye to devise perverse things; He purses his lips and brings about evil.

Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil.Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on.For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence.

For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright.

Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.They hatch vipers’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; He who eats of their eggs dies, And from that which is crushed a viper breaks out.

Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding.

A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.

Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.

My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.If they say,“ Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, And whole, like those who go down to the Pit;We shall find all kinds of precious possessions, We shall fill our houses with spoil;Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purse”—My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path;For their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed blood.Surely, in vain the net is spread In the sight of any bird;But they lie in wait for their own blood, They lurk secretly for their own lives.So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.
