A dishonest witness makes fun of what is right. The mouths of those who do wrong gulp down evil.

How much less one that is abominable and corrupt, A man that drinketh iniquity like water!

What man is like Job, Who drinketh up scoffing like water,

Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, Though he hide it under his tongue,Though he spare it, and will not let it go, But keep it still within his mouth;

Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and seized him, and brought him into the council,and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak words against this holy place, and the law:

He saith in his heart: God hath forgotten; He hideth his face, he will never see it.

His ways are firm at all times; Thy judgments are far above out of his sight: As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.

They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.

Wherefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scoffers, that rule this people that is in Jerusalem:Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner- stone of sure foundation: he that believeth shall not be in haste.And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding- place.And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

And the two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him: and the base fellows bare witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did curse God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.
