Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, And horror has overwhelmed me.

If I am wicked, woe to me; Even if I am righteous, I cannot lift up my head. I am full of disgrace; See my misery!If my head is exalted, You hunt me like a fierce lion, And again You show Yourself awesome against me.You renew Your witnesses against me, And increase Your indignation toward me; Changes and war are ever with me.

For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

Then You scare me with dreams And terrify me with visions,So that my soul chooses strangling And death rather than my body.

“ What profit is there in my blood, When I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me; Lord, be my helper!”

Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the oppression of the wicked; For they bring down trouble upon me, And in wrath they hate me.

For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; My spirit drinks in their poison; The terrors of God are arrayed against me.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?As it is written:“ For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
