By mercy and truth atonement is made for wrongdoing, And by the fear of the Lord one keeps away from evil.

罪愆以矜憫誠實得赦、敬畏主則可避惡、

Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided.

Through love and truth sin is paid for. People avoid evil when they have respect for the Lord.

By steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the Lord one turns away from evil.

Unfailing love and faithfulness make atonement for sin. By fearing the Lord, people avoid evil.

Iniquity is atoned for by loyalty and faithfulness, and one turns from evil by the fear of the LORD.

In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.

By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.

Wickedness is atoned for by loyalty and faithfulness, and one turns from evil by the fear of the Lord.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD[ men] depart from evil.

Through loyal love and truth iniquity is appeased; through fearing the LORD one avoids evil.

By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of Yahweh men depart from evil.

A wise person is cautious and turns away from evil, But a fool is arrogant and careless.

Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you: wipe away your sin by doing righteousness, and your wrongdoings by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.’

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

But give that which is within as a charitable gift, and then all things are clean for you.

And to mankind He said,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to turn away from evil is understanding.’ ”

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride, arrogance, the evil way, And the perverted mouth, I hate.

Loyalty and truth watch over the king, And he upholds his throne by loyalty.

and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

Who is a God like You, who pardons wrongdoing And passes over a rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.He will again take pity on us; He will trample on our wrongdoings. Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea.You will give truth to Jacob And favor to Abraham, Which You swore to our forefathers From the days of old.

and subject yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.

Graciousness and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.

Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart,

There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and that man was blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil.Seven sons and three daughters were born to him.His possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and very many servants; and that man was the greatest of all the men of the east.His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send word and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send word to them and consecrate them, getting up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said,“ Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Job did so continually.Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.The Lord said to Satan,“ From where do you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said,“ From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.”The Lord said to Satan,“ Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, By which one may avoid the snares of death.

Abraham said,“ Because I thought, surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.

But the previous governors who were before me laid burdens on the people and took from them bread and wine besides forty shekels of silver; even their servants domineered the people. But I did not do so because of my fear of God.

So I said,“ The thing which you are doing is not good; should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the taunting of the nations, our enemies?
