All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord.

Everything a person does might seem pure to them. But the Lord knows why they do what they do.

People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.

“ I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Though you wash yourself with lye and use much soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me, declares the Lord God.How can you say,‘ I am not unclean, I have not gone after the Baals’? Look at your way in the valley; know what you have done— a restless young camel running here and there,

For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his paths.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous.

and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

For apart from the law, sin lies dead.I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died.
