The way of people who don’t want to work is blocked with thorns. But the path of honest people is a wide road.

Corrupt people walk a thorny, treacherous road; whoever values life will avoid it.

The lazy person claims,“ There’s a lion on the road! Yes, I’m sure there’s a lion out there!”

The lazy person claims,“ There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!”

God says,“ Rebuild the road! Clear away the rocks and stones so my people can return from captivity.”

Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me.

They said to all the people of Israel,“ The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land!And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey.Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the Lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”

My words are plain to anyone with understanding, clear to those with knowledge.

The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray.He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.

Then the whole community began weeping aloud, and they cried all night.Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron.“ If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.“ Why is the Lord taking us to this country only to have us die in battle? Our wives and our little ones will be carried off as plunder! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”

Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say,“ This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.

Lead me in the right path, O Lord, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.

Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
