Mockers resent correction, so they avoid the wise.

People who make fun of others don’t like to be corrected. So they stay away from wise people.

A scoffer does not like to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.

A mocker doesn’t love one who corrects him; he will not consult the wise.

A scoffer does not love one who rebukes him; He will not go to the wise.

The Israelites hate anyone who arbitrates at the city gate; they despise anyone who speaks honestly.

For there will be a time when people will not tolerate sound teaching. Instead, following their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves, because they have an insatiable curiosity to hear new things.

So they say to God,‘ Turn away from us! We do not want to know your ways.

Severe discipline is for the one who abandons the way; the one who hates reproof will die.

The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat,“ There is still one man through whom we can seek the LORD’s will. But I despise him because he does not prophesy prosperity for me, but always disaster. His name is Micaiah son of Imlah. Jehoshaphat said,“ The king should not say such things!”

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I am testifying about it that its deeds are evil.

The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.Now this is the basis for judging: that the light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.For everyone who does evil deeds hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.But the one who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be plainly evident that his deeds have been done in God.

Whoever corrects a mocker is asking for insult; whoever reproves a wicked person receives abuse.Do not reprove a mocker or he will hate you; reprove a wise person and he will love you.
