The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.

亵慢人寻智慧，却寻不着；聪明人易得知识。

傲慢人枉寻智慧；聪明人易得知识。

嘲讽者徒然寻智慧，明哲人轻易得知识。

好讥笑人的寻找智慧，却寻不着；聪明人寻找知识，却轻易得着。

讥讽者寻求智慧却得不到；有悟性的人轻易得知识。

褻慢人尋智慧，卻尋不着；聰明人易得知識。

Those who make fun of others look for wisdom and don’t find it. But knowledge comes easily to those who understand what is right.

A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding.

A mocker seeks wisdom and never finds it, but knowledge comes easily to those with understanding.

A mocker seeks wisdom and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to the perceptive.

A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, But knowledge is easy for one who has understanding.

A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But knowledge is easy to him who understands.

A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not; But knowledge is easy unto him that hath understanding.

He replied,“ Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.“ All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge.

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.They will say,“ Where is this‘ coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become“ fools” so that you may become wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written:“ He catches the wise in their craftiness”;

The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.

Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies.I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.

“ The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.Although they claimed to be wise, they became foolsand exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator— who is forever praised. Amen.Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.

but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal.Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.

Do you see a person wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them.

Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.
