A king rejoices in wise servants but is angry with those who disgrace him.

智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠；贻羞的仆人遭其震怒。

A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant arouses his fury.

A king is pleased with a wise servant. But a servant who is full of shame stirs up the king’s anger.

A servant who deals wisely has the king’s favor, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.

A king favors a prudent servant, but his anger falls on a disgraceful one.

The king’s favor is toward a servant who acts wisely, But his anger is toward him who acts shamefully.

The king’s favor is toward a wise servant, But his wrath is against him who causes shame.

The king’s favor is toward a servant that dealeth wisely; But his wrath will be against him that causeth shame.

“ A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.But what if the servant is evil and thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?The master will return unannounced and unexpected,and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Whoever loves a pure heart and gracious speech will have the king as a friend.

The king’s anger is like a lion’s roar, but his favor is like dew on the grass.A foolish child is a calamity to a father; a quarrelsome wife is as annoying as constant dripping.

And the Lord replied,“ A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.But what if the servant thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant in pieces and banish him with the unfaithful.“ And a servant who knows what the master wants, but isn’t prepared and doesn’t carry out those instructions, will be severely punished.But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.

If a ruler pays attention to liars, all his advisers will be wicked.

Remove the wicked from the king’s court, and his reign will be made secure by justice.

“ The master was full of praise.‘ Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

A wise youth harvests in the summer, but one who sleeps during harvest is a disgrace.

A wise servant will rule over the master’s disgraceful son and will share the inheritance of the master’s children.

Children who mistreat their father or chase away their mother are an embarrassment and a public disgrace.

A wise king scatters the wicked like wheat, then runs his threshing wheel over them.

“ The master said,‘ Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me.I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence.My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.

When a king sits in judgment, he weighs all the evidence, distinguishing the bad from the good.
