One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless.

The wise fear the Lord and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.

A wise person has respect for the Lord and avoids evil. But a foolish person has a bad temper and yet feels secure.

The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence.

A wise person is cautious and turns from evil, but a fool is easily angered and is careless.

A wise person is cautious and turns away from evil, But a fool is arrogant and careless.

A wise man fears and departs from evil, But a fool rages and is self-confident.

For it was Herod who had sent and seized John and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, because he had married her.For John had been saying to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”And Herodias had a grudge against him and wanted to put him to death. But she could not,

Blessed is the one who fears the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

And he said to man,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

He said,“ If they have come out for peace, take them alive. Or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”

By steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the Lord one turns away from evil.

But Esau said,“ I have enough, my brother; keep what you have for yourself.”

All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast

The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; whoever guards his way preserves his life.

Ben-hadad sent to him and said,“ The gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”And the king of Israel answered,“ Tell him,‘ Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself as he who takes it off.’”

My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments.

Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him,“ Are we also blind?”

And she went out and said to her mother,“ For what should I ask?” And she said,“ The head of John the Baptist.”And she came in immediately with haste to the king and asked, saying,“ I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”

The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is evil madness.

The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people and took from them for their daily ration forty shekels of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God.
