There is that maketh himself rich, yet[ hath] nothing:[ there is] that maketh himself poor, yet[ hath] great riches.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

So[ is] he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

[ He that is] despised, and hath a servant,[ is] better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

We[ are] fools for Christ’s sake, but ye[ are] wise in Christ; we[ are] weak, but ye[ are] strong; ye[ are] honourable, but we[ are] despised.Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;

As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and[ yet] possessing all things.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.

While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

Wealth[ gotten] by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty,( but thou art rich) and[ I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but[ are] the synagogue of Satan.
