A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.

懒惰人羡慕，却无所得；殷勤人必得丰裕。

懒惰的人奢求，却无所得；殷勤的人必然丰裕。

懒惰人空有幻想，勤快人心想事成。

懒惰人渴求，却一无所得；殷勤人必得丰裕。

People who refuse to work want things and get nothing. But the desires of people who work hard are completely satisfied.

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.

The slacker craves, yet has nothing, but the diligent is fully satisfied.

The soul of the lazy one craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made prosperous.

The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.Then you will understand what is right and just and fair— every good path.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.

We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized.

Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

A sluggard says,“ There’s a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!”

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,

Who can count the dust of Jacob or number even a fourth of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my final end be like theirs!”
