A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.

People who refuse to work want things and get nothing. But the desires of people who work hard are completely satisfied.

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.

The slacker craves, yet has nothing, but the diligent is fully satisfied.

The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,and in your knowledge, self control, and in your self control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they do not make you useless nor unproductive in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.For the one who lacks these qualities is blind or short sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choice of you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.

Make your ear attentive to wisdom; Incline your heart to understanding.For if you cry out for insight, And raise your voice for understanding;If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures;Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And discover the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,Guarding the paths of justice, And He watches over the way of His godly ones.Then you will discern righteousness, justice, And integrity, and every good path.

A generous person will be prosperous, And one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty.

An arrogant person stirs up strife, But one who trusts in the Lord will prosper.

And we desire that each one of you demonstrate the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,

Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”

Blessed is the person who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts.

And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

A lazy one says,“ There is a lion on the road! A lion is in the public square!”

They will still yield fruit in advanced age; They will be full of sap and very green,

Who has counted the dust of Jacob, Or the number of the fourth part of Israel? May I die the death of the upright, And may my end be like his!”
