不用管教之杖的，就是恨自己的兒子；而愛自己兒子的，必勤加管教他。

你當管教你的兒子，他就使你安心，也會給你的靈魂帶來喜樂。

當在你的兒子還有指望時管教他；不可存心害死他。

管教孩子，不要有所保留；就算你用杖責打他，他也不至於死。你用杖責打他，就會救他的靈魂免下陰間。

杖打和責備，能帶來智慧；放任的孩子，使母親蒙羞。

愚妄纏在孩子的心裡，管教的杖使愚妄遠離。

因為耶和華責備他所愛的，正如父親責備他所喜悅的兒子。

「如果有人到我這裡來，而不恨自己的父親、母親、妻子、兒女、兄弟、姐妹，甚至自己的生命，他就不能做我的門徒。
