A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.

A good person leaves what they own to their children and grandchildren. But a sinner’s wealth is stored up for those who do right.

Though he piles up silver like dust and heaps up fine clothing like clay—he may heap it up, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide up his silver.

His descendants will be powerful in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous abandoned or his children begging for bread.

So do not give your daughters to their sons in marriage or take their daughters for your sons. Never pursue their welfare or prosperity, so that you will be strong, eat the good things of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your sons forever.”

I will confirm my covenant that is between me and you and your future offspring throughout their generations. It is a permanent covenant to be your God and the God of your offspring after you.And to you and your future offspring I will give the land where you are residing— all the land of Canaan— as a permanent possession, and I will be their God.”

Who is this person who fears the LORD? He will show him the way he should choose.He will live a good life, and his descendants will inherit the land.

Your servants’ children will dwell securely, and their offspring will be established before you.”
