Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:“ I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”Therefore“ Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”“ I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”

And I heard another voice from heaven saying,“ Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

I am a companion of all who fear You, And of those who keep Your precepts.

If they say,“ Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, And whole, like those who go down to the Pit;We shall find all kinds of precious possessions, We shall fill our houses with spoil;Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purse”—My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path;For their feet run to evil, And they make haste to shed blood.Surely, in vain the net is spread In the sight of any bird;But they lie in wait for their own blood, They lurk secretly for their own lives.So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

Her house is the way to hell, Descending to the chambers of death.

To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things,From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness;Who rejoice in doing evil, And delight in the perversity of the wicked;Whose ways are crooked, And who are devious in their paths;To deliver you from the immoral woman, From the seductress who flatters with her words,Who forsakes the companion of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God.For her house leads down to death, And her paths to the dead;None who go to her return, Nor do they regain the paths of life—So you may walk in the way of goodness, And keep to the paths of righteousness.

Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom.But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord.

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Then the young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying,“ Thus you should speak to this people who have spoken to you, saying,‘ Your father made our yoke heavy, but you make it lighter on us’— thus you shall say to them:‘ My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s waist!

But he rejected the advice which the elders had given him, and consulted the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.

They also took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

So he said to Jehoshaphat,“ Will you go with me to fight at Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat,“ Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you.

( TO HER BELOVED): Tell me, O you whom I love, Where you feed your flock, Where you make it rest at noon. For why should I be as one who veils herself By the flocks of your companions?THE BELOVED: If you do not know, O fairest among women, Follow in the footsteps of the flock, And feed your little goats Beside the shepherds’ tents.

So it was, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said,“ Surely it is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned aside to fight against him, and Jehoshaphat cried out.
