Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored.

Those who turn away from their training become poor and ashamed. But those who accept warnings are honored.

Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored.

If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept correction, you will be honored.

When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the harlots’ houses;they were as fed horses roaming at large; every one neighed after his neighbor’s wife.Shall I not visit for these things? saith Jehovah; and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Whoso despiseth the word bringeth destruction on himself; But he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from him that warneth from heaven:

Many will entreat the favor of the liberal man; And every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

As an ear- ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, So is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Lest thou give thine honor unto others, And thy years unto the cruel;Lest strangers be filled with thy strength, And thy labors be in the house of an alien,And thou mourn at thy latter end, When thy flesh and thy body are consumed,And say, How have I hated instruction, And my heart despised reproof;Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!I was well- nigh in all evil In the midst of the assembly and congregation.

Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness; And let him reprove me, it shall be as oil upon the head; Let not my head refuse it: For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.
