Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.

Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.

Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds;for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations.When the hay is removed and new growth appears and the grass from the hills is gathered in,the lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field.You will have plenty of goats’ milk to feed your family and to nourish your female servants.

The stingy are eager to get rich and are unaware that poverty awaits them.

A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.An unplowed field produces food for the poor, but injustice sweeps it away.

“ Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying,“‘ Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?’Will not your creditors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their prey.

He will spit out the riches he swallowed; God will make his stomach vomit them up.

You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.

or wealth lost through some misfortune, so that when they have children there is nothing left for them to inherit.

he will inhabit ruined towns and houses where no one lives, houses crumbling to rubble.He will no longer be rich and his wealth will not endure, nor will his possessions spread over the land.

For he has oppressed the poor and left them destitute; he has seized houses he did not build.“ Surely he will have no respite from his craving; he cannot save himself by his treasure.Nothing is left for him to devour; his prosperity will not endure.In the midst of his plenty, distress will overtake him; the full force of misery will come upon him.
