“ He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself.Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

If one man sins against another, God will judge him. But if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for him?” Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father, because the Lord desired to kill them.

Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you scornful men, Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem,Because you have said,“ We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we are in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, It will not come to us, For we have made lies our refuge, And under falsehood we have hidden ourselves.”

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But knowledge is easy to him who understands.

Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, And give attention to know understanding;For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.When I was my father’s son, Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,He also taught me, and said to me:“ Let your heart retain my words; Keep my commands, and live.Get wisdom!
