With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous.

不虔敬的人用口败坏邻舍；义人却因知识得救。

偽善以口才、訕謗鄰里、義者具明哲、自救其身。

邪惡者以口陷人、因善人之智慧、乃得拯救、

With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape.

With their words ungodly people destroy their neighbors. But those who do what is right escape because of their knowledge.

With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.

With his mouth the ungodly destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are rescued.

With his mouth the godless person destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be rescued.

The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.

With his mouth the godless man destroyeth his neighbor; But through knowledge shall the righteous be delivered.

With his mouth the ungodly destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are rescued.

An hypocrite with[ his] mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

With his speech the godless person destroys his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous will be delivered.

With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.

It is not an enemy who taunts me— I could bear that. It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me— I could have hidden from them.

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong.Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman.

But the old prophet answered,“ I am a prophet, too, just as you are. And an angel gave me this command from the Lord:‘ Bring him home with you so he can have something to eat and drink.’” But the old man was lying to him.So they went back together, and the man of God ate and drank at the prophet’s home.Then while they were sitting at the table, a command from the Lord came to the old prophet.He cried out to the man of God from Judah,“ This is what the Lord says: You have defied the word of the Lord and have disobeyed the command the Lord your God gave you.You came back to this place and ate and drank where he told you not to eat or drink. Because of this, your body will not be buried in the grave of your ancestors.”

And the Lord said,‘ Who can entice Ahab to go into battle against Ramoth gilead so he can be killed?’“ There were many suggestions,and finally a spirit approached the Lord and said,‘ I can do it!’“‘ How will you do this?’ the Lord asked.“ And the spirit replied,‘ I will go out and inspire all of Ahab’s prophets to speak lies.’“‘ You will succeed,’ said the Lord.‘ Go ahead and do it.’“ So you see, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all your prophets. For the Lord has pronounced your doom.”

So the king of Israel summoned the prophets, about 400 of them, and asked them,“ Should I go to war against Ramoth gilead, or should I hold back?” They all replied,“ Yes, go right ahead! The Lord will give the king victory.”

These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ.But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

As for my companion, he betrayed his friends; he broke his promises.His words are as smooth as butter, but in his heart is war. His words are as soothing as lotion, but underneath are daggers!

Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles.He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.

Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following.

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true— it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat certain foods. But God created those foods to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth.

This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

“ Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.

speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction.You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing.Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

The same happens to all who forget God. The hopes of the godless evaporate.

“ The day is coming when you will see the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing where he should not be.”( Reader, pay attention!)“ Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.

For their command is a lamp and their instruction a light; their corrective discipline is the way to life.It will keep you from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of a promiscuous woman.

He prevents the godless from ruling so they cannot be a snare to the people.

But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents,‘ Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition.You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote,‘ These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.Their worship is a farce, for they teach man made ideas as commands from God.’”Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear.“ Listen,” he said,“ and try to understand.It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”Then the disciples came to him and asked,“ Do you realize you offended the Pharisees by what you just said?”Jesus replied,“ Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be uprooted,so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.”

But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you.

So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies.

For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.Watch out! I have warned you about this ahead of time!
