With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape.

With their words ungodly people destroy their neighbors. But those who do what is right escape because of their knowledge.

With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.

With their words, the godless destroy their friends, but knowledge will rescue the righteous.

With his mouth the ungodly destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are rescued.

For[ it was] not an enemy[ that] reproached me; then I could have borne[ it]: neither[ was it] he that hated me[ that] did magnify[ himself] against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:To deliver thee from the way of the evil[ man], from the man that speaketh froward things;Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;Who rejoice to do evil,[ and] delight in the frowardness of the wicked;Whose ways[ are] crooked, and[ they] froward in their paths:To deliver thee from the strange woman,[ even] from the stranger[ which] flattereth with her words;

And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade[ him], and prevail also: go forth, and do so.Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver[ it] into the hand of the king.

For such[ are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.Therefore[ it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.[ The words] of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war[ was] in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet[ were] they drawn swords.

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:[ Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;Forbidding to marry,[ and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:That we[ henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men,[ and] cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

As also in all[ his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as[ they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know[ these things] before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.But grow in grace, and[ in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him[ be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.

So[ are] the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not,( let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

For the commandment[ is] a lamp; and the law[ is] light; and reproofs of instruction[ are] the way of life:To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

But ye say, Whosoever shall say to[ his] father or[ his] mother,[ It is] a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;And honour not his father or his mother,[ he shall be free]. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.[ Ye] hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with[ their] lips; but their heart is far from me.But in vain they do worship me, teaching[ for] doctrines the commandments of men.And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget[ it] not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if[ it were] possible, even the elect.But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
