Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.

Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.

They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

“ Look what happens to mighty warriors who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead and grow more and more bold in their wickedness.”But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.

They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God.Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.

Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.

“ Have I put my trust in money or felt secure because of my gold?Have I gloated about my wealth and all that I own?

They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches.

The wealth of the rich is their fortress; the poverty of the poor is their destruction.

All your people will be righteous. They will possess their land forever, for I will plant them there with my own hands in order to bring myself glory.

This amazed them. But Jesus said again,“ Dear children, it is very hard to enter the Kingdom of God.In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”

For when you have become full and prosperous and have built fine homes to live in,and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, be careful!Do not become proud at that time and forget the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.
