There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.

有散財而增富厚、有惜財而致貧乏、

有散財者反增添、有惜財過度者反致貧乏、

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

One person gives freely but gets even richer. Another person doesn’t give what they should but gets even poorer.

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.

There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in poverty.

“ Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.”

Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

Through all that time, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were only ten. When one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty, there were only twenty.I struck you with blight, mildew, and hail in all the work of your hands; yet you didn’t turn to me,’ says Yahweh.‘ Consider, please, from this day and backward, from the twenty- fourth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of Yahweh’s temple was laid, consider it.Is the seed yet in the barn? Yes, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree haven’t produced. From today I will bless you.’”

I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness.Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion. for God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.As it is written,“ He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.”Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness,you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.

You shall surely give, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because it is for this thing Yahweh your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you put your hand to.

In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening don’t withhold your hand; for you don’t know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be equally good.

You have sown much, and bring in little. You eat, but you don’t have enough. You drink, but you aren’t filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes in it.”

“ You looked for much, and, behold, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says Yahweh of Armies,“ Because of my house that lies waste, while each of you is busy with his own house.Therefore for your sake the heavens withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit.I called for a drought on the land, on the mountains, on the grain, on the new wine, on the oil, on that which the ground produces, on men, on livestock, and on all the labor of the hands.”

He who increases his wealth by excessive interest gathers it for one who has pity on the poor.

As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
