When pride comes, shame follows. But wisdom comes to those who are not proud.

狂傲來，羞辱也會來；而智慧與謙卑人同在。

驕矜既至、恥辱亦至、惟謙卑者、智慧與俱、

謙者得智、驕者受辱。

人驕矜必致取辱、謙遜者可謂有智、

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

When arrogance comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom.

When pride comes, then comes dishonor; But with the humble there is wisdom.

When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.

When pride cometh, then cometh shame; But with the lowly is wisdom.

If you are proud, you will be destroyed. If you are proud, you will fall.Suppose you are lowly in spirit along with those who are treated badly. That’s better than sharing stolen goods with those who are proud.

Wisdom teaches you to have respect for the Lord. So don’t be proud if you want to be honored.

“ I tell you, the tax collector went home accepted by God. But not the Pharisee. All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”

Pride brings a person low. But those whose spirits are low will be honored.

If a person’s heart is proud, they will be destroyed. So don’t be proud if you want to be honored.

He makes fun of proud people who make fun of others. But he gives grace to those who are humble and treated badly.Wise people receive honor. But foolish people get only shame.

Now I want to deal with food sacrificed to statues of gods. We know that“ We all have knowledge.” But knowledge makes people proud, while love builds them up.Those who think they know something still don’t know as they should.

He said,“ Suppose someone invites you to a wedding feast. Do not take the place of honor. A person more important than you may have been invited.If so, the host who invited both of you will come to you. He will say,‘ Give this person your seat.’ Then you will be filled with shame. You will have to take the least important place.But when you are invited, take the lowest place. Then your host will come over to you. He will say,‘ Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests.All those who lift themselves up will be made humble. And those who make themselves humble will be lifted up.”

He said,“ Isn’t this the great Babylon I have built as a place for my royal palace? I used my mighty power to build it. It shows how glorious my majesty is.”He was still speaking when he heard a voice from heaven. It said,“ King Nebuchadnezzar, here is what has been ordered concerning you. Your royal authority has been taken from you.You will be driven away from people. You will live with the wild animals. You will eat grass just as an ox does. Seven periods of time will pass by for you. Then you will recognize that the Most High God rules over all kingdoms on earth. He gives them to anyone he wants.”
