He opens his eyes, and he is not.Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night.The east wind carries him away, and he departs. It sweeps him out of his place.For it hurls at him, and does not spare, as he flees away from his hand.Men will clap their hands at him, and will hiss him out of his place.

The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare him. The cords of his sin hold him firmly.

that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,

They hatch adders’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web. He who eats of their eggs dies; and that which is crushed breaks out into a viper.Their webs won’t become garments. They won’t cover themselves with their works. Their works are works of iniquity, and acts of violence are in their hands.Their feet run to evil, and they hurry to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity. Desolation and destruction are in their paths.They don’t know the way of peace; and there is no justice in their ways. They have made crooked paths for themselves; whoever goes in them doesn’t know peace.
