Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense, but the one who has understanding holds their tongue.

Whoever makes fun of their neighbor has no sense. But the one who has understanding controls their tongue.

Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.

It is foolish to belittle one’s neighbor; a sensible person keeps quiet.

Whoever shows contempt for his neighbor lacks sense, but a person with understanding keeps silent.

One who despises his neighbor lacks sense, But a person of understanding keeps silent.

He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace.

He that despiseth his neighbor is void of wisdom; But a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

見詬不反、受苦不校、上帝鞫人至公、耶穌托之、

多言有咎、拑口為智、

有數人自恃為義、而藐視人、耶穌設譬謂之曰、

耶和華兮我為人藐視、亦已太甚、人享安居、常加凌侮、驕泰者流、亦虐遇余、願爾矜憫余、矜恤余兮。

𠵽唎㘔之好利者、聞斯言、哂之、

西不曰、爾昔言亞庇米力為誰、曷為事之、至於今日、爾之前言何在。此非爾所蔑視者乎。今可出而與之戰。

諸匪類曰、斯人也、曷能拯我。故藐視之、不饋禮物。掃羅置若罔聞。

凌侮人者陷於罪戾、矜憫貧者可納福祉。

告其同宗及撒馬利亞軍旅、曰、此荏弱之猶大人何為、斯邑既燬、盡成瓦礫、彼乃欲復興工作、立竣厥工乎。吾儕豈容其建城獻祭哉。亞捫人多比侍立、曰、彼所築之石墻、即狐登之亦圮。我禱曰、我為人藐視、望上帝鑒察、願彼之凌辱人者、反以自受、見虜於異邦、遭其虐遇。

民聞是言、不措一詞、蓋王命勿應之。

往於田間、斂取葡萄、醡之、入其上帝之殿、頌美飲食、而詛亞庇米力。以別子伽勒曰、亞庇米力為誰、示劍之主為誰、曷為事之、其父豈非耶路巴力乎、其督豈非西不乎、莫若事示劍父哈抹之族為善。願斯民歸我掌握、我必除亞庇米力。又告亞庇米力曰、當益爾軍而出。

有司與𠵽唎㘔人、有信之者乎、但此眾不識律、可詛也、中有尼哥底母、曾夜就耶穌者、謂𠵽唎㘔人曰、未聽訟、不識其所為、我律豈罪之、曰、爾亦來自加利利乎、可考而知、無先知由加利利起也、
