Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.

How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.

“ I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.

The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.

“ And so, my children, listen to me, for all who follow my ways are joyful.

In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely.

I saw some naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense.He was crossing the street near the house of an immoral woman, strolling down the path by her house.It was at twilight, in the evening, as deep darkness fell.The woman approached him, seductively dressed and sly of heart.She was the brash, rebellious type, never content to stay at home.She is often in the streets and markets, soliciting at every corner.She threw her arms around him and kissed him, and with a brazen look she said,“ I’ve just made my peace offerings and fulfilled my vows.You’re the one I was looking for! I came out to find you, and here you are!My bed is spread with beautiful blankets, with colored sheets of Egyptian linen.I’ve perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.Come, let’s drink our fill of love until morning. Let’s enjoy each other’s caresses,for my husband is not home. He’s away on a long trip.He has taken a wallet full of money with him and won’t return until later this month.”So she seduced him with her pretty speech and enticed him with her flattery.He followed her at once, like an ox going to the slaughter. He was like a stag caught in a trap,awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart. He was like a bird flying into a snare, little knowing it would cost him his life.So listen to me, my sons, and pay attention to my words.

Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say,“ Life is not pleasant anymore.”

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear the Lord.

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.

My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them,

And a great road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of Holiness. Evil minded people will never travel on it. It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways; fools will never walk there.

“ How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge?Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.
