How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

说：“你们愚昧人喜爱愚昧，亵慢人喜欢亵慢，愚顽人恨恶知识，要到几时呢？

“你们无知的人喜爱无知，傲慢人喜欢傲慢，愚昧人恨恶知识，要到几时呢？

“你们无知的人喜爱无知，傲慢人喜欢傲慢，愚昧人恨恶知识，要到几时呢？

“你们愚昧人喜爱愚昧，嘲讽者以嘲弄为乐，无知者厌恶知识，要到什么时候呢？

“你们愚蒙人喜爱愚蒙，好讥笑的人喜欢讥笑，愚昧人恨恶知识，要到几时呢？

“无知的人喜爱无知，讥讽者贪爱讥讽，愚昧人恨恶知识，要到什么时候呢？

說：你們愚昧人喜愛愚昧，褻慢人喜歡褻慢，愚頑人恨惡知識，要到幾時呢？

“你們愚蒙人喜愛愚蒙，好譏笑的人喜歡譏笑，愚昧人恨惡知識，要到幾時呢？

『你們愚蠢人喜愛愚蠢，要到幾時呢？你們褻慢人喜歡褻慢，愚頑人恨惡知識，要到幾時呢？

「無知的人喜愛無知，譏諷者貪愛譏諷，愚昧人恨惡知識，要到什麼時候呢？

曰、樸拙者好樸拙、侮慢者樂侮慢、愚蠢者惡知識、將至何時乎、

拙者安於拙、侮者樂於侮、愚者不志於學、將至何時。

曰、爾拙者悅於拙、侮慢者樂於侮慢、愚者厭惡知識、將至何時、

“ How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

“ How long will you childish people love your childish ways? How long will you rude people enjoy making fun of God and others? How long will you foolish people hate knowledge?

“ How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?

“ How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge?

“ How long, inexperienced ones, will you love ignorance? How long will you mockers enjoy mocking and you fools hate knowledge?

“ How long, you naive ones, will you love simplistic thinking? And how long will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?

“ How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And scoffers delight them in scoffing, And fools hate knowledge?

“ How long, foolish ones, will you love ignorance? How long will you mockers enjoy mocking and you fools hate knowledge?

“ How long will you simpletons love naiveté? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

“ How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Blessed[ is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.For my yoke[ is] easy, and my burden is light.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

But go ye and learn what[ that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Whoso[ is] simple, let him turn in hither: and[ as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,Stolen waters are sweet, and bread[ eaten] in secret is pleasant.But he knoweth not that the dead[ are] there;[ and that] her guests[ are] in the depths of hell.

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and[ findeth it] not: but knowledge[ is] easy unto him that understandeth.

Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things[ which belong] unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

How long[ shall I bear with] this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,[ thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under[ her] wings, and ye would not!

How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

Whoso[ is] simple, let him turn in hither:[ as for] him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine[ which] I have mingled.Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

What man[ is] like Job,[ who] drinketh up scorning like water?

The fear of the LORD[ is] the beginning of knowledge:[ but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.

A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and[ ye] fools, when will ye be wise?

And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
