If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

他們若說：你與我們同去，我們要埋伏流人之血，要蹲伏害無罪之人；

他們若說：「你與我們同去，我們要埋伏殺人流血，無故地潛藏，殺害無辜；

他們若說：「你與我們同去，我們要埋伏殺人流血，無故地潛藏，殺害無辜；

他們若說：「跟我們來吧，我們去埋伏殺人，暗害無辜者取樂；

如果他們說：“你跟我們來吧！我們要埋伏流人的血，我們要無故地潛伏傷害無辜的人；

他們若說：『跟我們同來吧！我們來埋伏，流人的血，來無緣無故地潛伏、害無辜的人；

如果他們說：「你與我們一起去吧，讓我們埋伏，殺人流血，任意設伏攻擊清白的人，

彼若曰、與我偕行、潛伏以流人血、無端隱伺無辜、

如彼曰、爾我偕行、我匿於歧途、見無辜者殺之。

如彼曰、爾我同行、我欲設伏殺人流血、無故立謀、以害無辜者、

If they say,“ Come along with us; let’s lie in wait for innocent blood, let’s ambush some harmless soul;

They might say,“ Come along with us. Let’s hide and wait to kill someone who hasn’t done anything wrong. Let’s catch some harmless person in our trap.

If they say,“ Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason;

They may say,“ Come and join us. Let’s hide and kill someone! Just for fun, let’s ambush the innocent!

If they say—“ Come with us! Let’s set an ambush and kill someone. Let’s attack some innocent person just for fun!

If they say,“ Come with us, Let’s lie in wait for blood, Let’s ambush the innocent without cause;

If they say,“ Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;

If they say, Come with us, Let us lay wait for blood; Let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause;

If they say—“ Come with us! Let’s set an ambush and kill someone. Let’s attack some innocent person just for fun!

If they say,“ Come with us! We will lie in wait to shed blood; we will ambush an innocent person capriciously.

If they say,“ Come with us. Let’s lay in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.

For among my people are found wicked[ men]: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

And they lay wait for their[ own] blood; they lurk privily for their[ own] lives.

The words of the wicked[ are] to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them,[ and] to turn away thy wrath from them.

The good[ man] is perished out of the earth: and[ there is] none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

But I[ was] like a lamb[ or] an ox[ that] is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me,[ saying], Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

For without cause have they hid for me their net[ in] a pit,[ which] without cause they have digged for my soul.

Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill[ him].

[ There is] a generation, whose teeth[ are as] swords, and their jaw teeth[ as] knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from[ among] men.

They encourage themselves[ in] an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward[ thought] of every one[ of them], and the heart,[ is] deep.

Like as a lion[ that] is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.

He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.He croucheth,[ and] humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

But[ this cometh to pass], that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
