Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Let everyone know how gentle you are. The Lord is coming soon.

Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;

Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.

Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.Do not grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be judged. See, the judge stands before the gates!

“ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing?

They must not slander anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.

For the culmination of all things is near. So be self- controlled and sober- minded for the sake of prayer.

So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

To the person who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other as well, and from the person who takes away your coat, do not withhold your tunic either.Give to everyone who asks you, and do not ask for your possessions back from the person who takes them away.Treat others in the same way that you would want them to treat you.“ If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.And if you lend to those from whom you hope to be repaid, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, so that they may be repaid in full.But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to ungrateful and evil people.

Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear.For there is more to life than food, and more to the body than clothing.Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds!And which of you by worrying can add an hour to his life?So if you cannot do such a very little thing as this, why do you worry about the rest?Consider how the flowers grow; they do not work or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these!And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, how much more will he clothe you, you people of little faith!So do not be overly concerned about what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not worry about such things.For all the nations of the world pursue these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

The one who testifies to these things says,“ Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!

Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said,“ I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”So we can say with confidence,“ The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

“ But be on your guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap.

not to be easily shaken from your composure or disturbed by any kind of spirit or message or letter allegedly from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here.

They probed into what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he testified beforehand about the sufferings appointed for Christ and his subsequent glory.

But I say to you, do not resist the evildoer. But whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to him as well.And if someone wants to sue you and to take your tunic, give him your coat also.And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two.Give to the one who asks you, and do not reject the one who wants to borrow from you.

For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them to sin.

But if that evil slave should say to himself,‘ My master is staying away a long time,’and he begins to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with drunkards,then the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not foresee,

Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice, that a single day is like a thousand years with the Lord and a thousand years are like a single day.The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; when it comes, the heavens will disappear with a horrific noise, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze, and the earth and every deed done on it will be laid bare.Since all these things are to melt away in this manner, what sort of people must we be, conducting our lives in holiness and godliness,while waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God? Because of this day, the heavens will be burned up and dissolve, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze!But, according to his promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness truly resides.Therefore, dear friends, since you are waiting for these things, strive to be found at peace, without spot or blemish, when you come into his presence.

Each competitor must exercise self- control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come in the same way as a thief in the night.Now when they are saying,“ There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will surely not escape.But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the darkness for the day to overtake you like a thief would.

not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day drawing near.

And I say this, brothers and sisters: The time is short. So then those who have wives should be as those who have none,those with tears like those not weeping, those who rejoice like those not rejoicing, those who buy like those without possessions,those who use the world as though they were not using it to the full. For the present shape of this world is passing away.
