Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

to slander no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing every consideration for all people.

For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay.

The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.

Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather suffer the wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?

“ So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic from him either.Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.Treat people the same way you want them to treat you.If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? And He said to His disciples,“ For this reason I tell you, do not worry about your life, as to what you are to eat; nor for your body, as to what you are to wear.For life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.Consider the ravens, that they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!And which of you by worrying can add a day to his life’s span?Therefore if you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about the other things?Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither labor nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.Now if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You of little faith!And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not keep worrying.For all these things are what the nations of the world eagerly seek; and your Father knows that you need these things.

He who testifies to these things says,“ Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said,“ I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,”so that we confidently say,“ The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”

“ But be on your guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that this day will not come on you suddenly, like a trap;

that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit, or a message, or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

But I say to you, do not show opposition against an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other toward him also.And if anyone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak also.Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.

Therefore, if food causes my brother to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to sin.

But if that evil slave says in his heart,‘ My master is not coming for a long time,’and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and he eats and drinks with those habitually drunk;then the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know,

“ And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be discovered.Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace,

Everyone who competes in the games exercises self control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night.While they are saying,“ Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief;

not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

But this I say, brothers, the time has been shortened, so that from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none;and those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess;and those who use the world, as though they did not make full use of it; for the present form of this world is passing away.
