Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.

Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.

For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

As it is written,“ He has scattered abroad. He has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.”Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness,you being enriched in everything to all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all,

For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness( God is witness),

Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.

For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self- pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

“ In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.

For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous.”

If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things?If others partake of this right over you, don’t we yet more? Nevertheless we didn’t use this right, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the Good News of Christ.Don’t you know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar?Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News.But I have used none of these things, and I don’t write these things that it may be done so in my case; for I would rather die, than that anyone should make my boasting void.

Then the King will tell those on his right hand,‘ Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’“ Then the righteous will answer him, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’“ The King will answer them,‘ Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by way of you to Spain.

He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh; he will reward him.

I thought it necessary therefore to entreat the brothers that they would go before to you and arrange ahead of time the generous gift that you promised before, that the same might be ready as a matter of generosity, and not of greediness.

Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
