Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;

And you believers at Philippi know what happened when I left Macedonia. Not one church helped me in the matter of giving and receiving. You were the only one that did. That was in the early days when you first heard the good news.

And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only.

As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this.

And you Philippians know that in the early days of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone.

You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone;

因你們從第一天到如今，一直在福音工作上相契合。

我「掠奪了」別的教會，拿了他們的工價來服事你們。我在你們那裡有缺乏的時候，也沒有成為任何人的負擔，因為從馬其頓省來的弟兄們補足了我的缺乏。在一切事上我都留意，不讓自己成為你們的負擔，將來也會留意。我指著在我裡面基督的真理說，在亞該亞地區，誰也不能阻止我如此誇耀。為什麼呢？難道因為我不愛你們嗎？神是知道的！我現在所做的，將來還要做，為要斷絕那些人的機會——他們想找一個機會，好讓別人以為他們所誇耀的與我們一樣，

我成了愚妄的人，是你們逼我的。其實我應該受到你們的推薦，因為即使我一無所是，我也沒有一點趕不上那些「超級使徒」。我在你們中間以極大的忍耐，用神蹟、奇事和大能，確實顯出了使徒的標記。除了我自己沒有成為你們的負擔以外，你們所受的對待，到底有什麼不如其他教會呢？請你們饒恕我這點不公平吧！看哪，這是我第三次預備好到你們那裡去，而且我不會成為你們的負擔，因為我想要的不是你們的東西，而是你們自己。本來，不應該是兒女為父母積蓄財富，而是父母為兒女積蓄財富。所以為了你們的靈魂，我會極其樂意地付出，甚至完全付出。難道我愛你們越多，就越少得到你們的愛嗎？

保羅和賽拉斯出了監獄，就到莉迪婭家裡去，見了弟兄們，鼓勵他們一番，然後離開了。保羅和賽拉斯經過安菲波利斯和阿波羅尼亞，來到帖撒羅尼迦。那裡有一個猶太人的會堂。保羅照習慣進了會堂，一連三個安息日，引用經文向他們講論，講解並說明基督必須受難，然後從死人中復活，並且說：「我傳給你們的這位耶穌，就是基督。」他們當中有些人被說服了，就跟從了保羅和賽拉斯；不但有一大群敬神的希臘人，還有不少顯要的婦女。但那些不肯信從的猶太人嫉妒了，就招聚一些市井無賴，成群結夥，擾亂城市。他們闖進耶森的家，搜尋保羅和賽拉斯，要把他們帶到民眾那裡。
