Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;

And you believers at Philippi know what happened when I left Macedonia. Not one church helped me in the matter of giving and receiving. You were the only one that did. That was in the early days when you first heard the good news.

And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only.

As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this.

And you Philippians know that in the early days of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone.

You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone;

Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.

為了你們從頭一天直到現在都在福音的事工上有分，我就感謝我的神。

我為了服事你們，就接受了別的教會的供應，也可以說是剝削了他們。我在你們那裡有缺乏的時候，並沒有連累任何人，因為從馬其頓來的弟兄們，補足了我的缺乏。我在各方面都不讓自己成為你們的重擔，將來也是一樣。我有基督的真理在我裡面，在亞該亞一帶沒有人能阻止我這樣誇口。為甚麼呢？是我不愛你們嗎？神是知道的。我現在所作的，將來還要作，為了要斷絕那些投機分子的機會，不讓他們在所誇的事上，被人認為是跟我們一樣的。

我成了愚妄的人，是你們逼成的。其實你們應該稱讚我，因為我雖然算不得甚麼，卻沒有一點比不上那些“超等使徒”。我在你們中間，以各種忍耐，用神蹟、奇事和大能，作為使徒的憑據。除了我自己沒有成為你們的重擔以外，你們還有甚麼比不上別的教會呢？這一點委屈，請原諒我吧！好了，我打算第三次到你們那裡去，這一次也不會成為你們的重擔，因為我所要的不是你們的東西，而是你們自己。兒女不需要為父母積財，父母卻應該為兒女積財。至於我，我甘心樂意為你們的靈魂付上一切，鞠躬盡瘁。難道我越愛你們，就越得不到你們的愛嗎？

兩人出了監，就到呂底亞的家裡去，見了弟兄們，勸勉他們一番，就離開了。保羅和西拉經過暗非波里、亞波羅尼亞，來到帖撒羅尼迦，在那裡有猶太人的會堂。保羅照他的習慣進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，講解證明基督必須受害，從死人中復活，說：“我所傳給你們的這位耶穌，就是基督。”他們中間有人給說服了，就附從了保羅和西拉；還有一大群虔誠的希臘人，和不少顯要的婦女。但猶太人嫉妒起來，招聚了一些市井流氓，糾合成群，騷動全城，衝進了耶孫的家，搜索保羅和西拉，要把他們交給民眾。

神人以利沙的僕人基哈西心裡說：“看哪，我主人不肯從這亞蘭人乃縵手中收取他帶來的禮物；我指著永活的耶和華起誓，我要追上他，向他要些東西。”

以利沙說：“我指著我所事奉永活的耶和華起誓，我決不收取任何禮物。”乃縵再三促請他接受，都被他拒絕。
