I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content— whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need.

I know how to get along with little, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.

I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

受勞碌、受困苦，多次不得睡，又飢又渴，多次不得食，受寒冷，赤身露體。

我在你們那裏缺乏的時候，並沒有累着你們一個人；因我所缺乏的，那從馬其頓來的弟兄們都補足了。我向來凡事謹守，後來也必謹守，總不至於累着你們。

反倒在各樣的事上表明自己是神的用人，就如在許多的忍耐、患難、窮乏、困苦、鞭打、監禁、擾亂、勤勞、警醒、不食、廉潔、知識、恆忍、恩慈、聖靈的感化、無偽的愛心、真實的道理、神的大能；仁義的兵器在左在右；榮耀、羞辱，惡名、美名；似乎是誘惑人的，卻是誠實的；似乎不為人所知，卻是人所共知的；似乎要死，卻是活着的；似乎受責罰，卻是不致喪命的；似乎憂愁，卻是常常快樂的；似乎貧窮，卻是叫許多人富足的；似乎一無所有，卻是樣樣都有的。

我回轉以後就真正懊悔；受教以後就拍腿歎息；我因擔當幼年的凌辱就抱愧蒙羞。

我－保羅，就是與你們見面的時候是謙卑的，不在你們那裏的時候向你們是勇敢的，如今親自藉着基督的溫柔、和平勸你們。

我想神把我們使徒明明列在末後，好像定死罪的囚犯；因為我們成了一臺戲，給世人和天使觀看。我們為基督的緣故算是愚拙的，你們在基督裏倒是聰明的；我們軟弱，你們倒強壯；你們有榮耀，我們倒被藐視。直到如今，我們還是又飢又渴，又赤身露體，又挨打，又沒有一定的住處，並且勞苦，親手做工。被人咒罵，我們就祝福；被人逼迫，我們就忍受；被人毀謗，我們就善勸。直到如今，人還把我們看作世界上的污穢，萬物中的渣滓。

耶和華遇見他在曠野－荒涼野獸吼叫之地，就環繞他，看顧他，保護他，如同保護眼中的瞳人。

耶和華以大能的手，指教我不可行這百姓所行的道，對我這樣說：

因為有人說：「他的信又沉重又厲害，及至見面，卻是氣貌不揚，言語粗俗的。」

我因為白白傳神的福音給你們，就自居卑微，叫你們高升，這算是我犯罪嗎？

你也賜下你良善的靈教訓他們；未嘗不賜嗎哪使他們糊口，並賜水解他們的渴。

他說：「凡文士受教作天國的門徒，就像一個家主從他庫裏拿出新舊的東西來。」

你們學了基督，卻不是這樣。如果你們聽過他的道，領了他的教，學了他的真理，
