But whatever things were gain to me, these things I have counted as loss because of Christ.

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.

I thought things like that were really something great. But now I consider them to be nothing because of Christ.

But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.

But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ.

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.

Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.

So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.

“ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a person give in exchange for his soul?

The ransom of a person’s life is his wealth, But the poor hears no rebuke.

“ The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells everything that he has, and buys that field.“ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls,and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold everything that he had and bought it.

“ We are Jews by nature and not sinners from the Gentiles;nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified.

On that day, the one who will be on the housetop, with his goods in the house, must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one in the field must not turn back.Remember Lot’s wife.Whoever strives to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will keep it.

But Lot’s wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

The next day as we were being violently tossed by the storm, they began to jettison the cargo;and on the third day they threw the ship’s tackle overboard with their own hands.

When they had eaten enough, they began lightening the ship by throwing the wheat out into the sea.

although I myself could boast as having confidence even in the flesh. And his master complimented the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.
