But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,

and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;

but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.

so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.

Jesus said to him,“ If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

“ Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

“ Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The way of life winds upward for the wise, That he may turn away from hell below.

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:“ We have a strong city; God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks.Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.

As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

who also said,“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.Its gates shall not be shut at all by day( there shall be no night there).And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

“ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
