不可叫人小看你年轻，总要在言语、行为、爱心、信心、清洁上，都作信徒的榜样。

这并不是因我们没有权柄，而是要给你们作榜样，好让你们效法我们。

你们不要使犹太人、希腊人，或上帝教会中的人跌倒；但要像我一样，凡事都使众人喜欢，不求自己的益处，只求众人的益处，使他们得救。你们该效法我，像我效法基督一样。

弟兄们，那些离间你们、使你们跌倒、违背所学之道的人，我劝你们要留意躲避他们。

你们成为效法我们，更效法主的人，因圣灵所激发的喜乐，在大患难中领受了真道，

若有人不听从我们这信上的话，要把他记下，不和他交往，使他自觉羞愧；

从前引导你们、传上帝的道给你们的人，你们要记念他们，效法他们的信心，回顾他们为人的结局。

你要细察那完全人，观看那正直人，因为和平的人有好结局。

我们对你们信主的人是何等圣洁、正直、无可指责，这有你们作证，也有上帝作证。正如你们知道，我们待你们好像父亲待自己的儿女一样。我们劝勉你们，安慰你们，嘱咐你们，使你们行事对得起那召你们进他自己的国、得他荣耀的上帝。为此，我们也不断地感谢上帝，因为你们听见我们所传上帝的道的时候，你们领受了，不以为这是人的道，而以为这确实是上帝的道，而且在你们信主的人当中运行着。弟兄们，你们与犹太地区上帝的各教会，就是在基督耶稣里的各教会，有同样的遭遇，因为你们也受了同胞的迫害，像他们受了犹太人的迫害一样。
