不要叫人小看你年轻，总要在言语、行为、爱心、信心和纯洁上，都作信徒的榜样。

这不是因为我们没有权利，而是要给你们作榜样，好让你们效法我们。

无论是犹太人，是希腊人，是神的教会，你们总不可使他们跌倒；就好像我所作的一切，都是要使大家喜悦，不是要求自己的好处，而是要求别人的好处，为了要使他们得救。你们应该效法我，好像我效法基督一样。

弟兄们，我劝你们要提防那些离间你们、绊倒你们、使你们违反你们所学的教义的人。你们也要避开他们，

你们效法了我们，也效法了主，在大患难中，带着圣灵的喜乐接受了真道。

如果有人不听从我们这封信上的训勉，要把这个人记下来，不可和他来往，好叫他自己觉得惭愧。

你们要记念那些领导过你们，把神的道传给你们的人；你们要观察他们一生的成果，要效法他们的信心。

你要细察完全人，观看正直人；因为爱和平的必有后代。

我们对你们信的人是多么圣洁、公义、无可指摘，这是你们和神都可以作证的。正如你们知道的，我们是怎样好像父亲对待儿女一样对待你们各人：劝勉你们，鼓励你们，叮嘱你们，要你们行事为人，配得上那召你们进入他的国和荣耀的神。我们也为这缘故不住感谢神，因为你们接受了我们所传的神的道，不认为这是人的道，而认为这确实是神的道。这道也运行在你们信的人里面。弟兄们，你们好像犹太地在基督耶稣里神的众教会一样，他们怎样遭受犹太人的迫害，你们也照样遭受同族人的迫害。
