Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

I have not yet received all these things. I have not yet reached my goal. Christ Jesus took hold of me so that I could reach that goal. So I keep pushing myself forward to reach it.

Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

Not that I have already reached the goal or am already perfect, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus.

And let him turn away from evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and pursue it.For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, And his ears unto their supplication: But the face of the Lord is upon them that do evil.And who is he that will harm you, if ye be zealous of that which is good?

Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Jehovah will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, endureth for ever; Forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek Jehovah: look unto the rock whence ye were hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye were digged.

even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love:

And let us know, let us follow on to know Jehovah: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and for ever. Amen.

O God, thou art my God; earnestly will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee, In a dry and weary land, where no water is.So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary, To see thy power and thy glory.Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise thee.

make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well- pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

only, whereunto we have attained, by that same rule let us walk.

But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord:

Oh that my ways were established To observe thy statutes!

But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary the one to the other; that ye may not do the things that ye would.

For we rejoice, when we are weak, and ye are strong: this we also pray for, even your perfecting.

to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

For judgment shall return unto righteousness; And all the upright in heart shall follow it.

For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practise.But if what I would not, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me.I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present.For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me out of the body of this death?

for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:

Let thy hand be ready to help me; For I have chosen thy precepts.I have longed for thy salvation, O Jehovah; And thy law is my delight.Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; And let thine ordinances help me.I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek thy servant; For I do not forget thy commandments.

And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, So panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Jehovah will send forth the rod of thy strength out of Zion: Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.Thy people offer themselves willingly In the day of thy power, in holy array: Out of the womb of the morning Thou hast the dew of thy youth.
