Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

Joseph prepared his chariot, and went up to meet Israel, his father, in Goshen. He presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.Israel said to Joseph,“ Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.”

And I wrote this very thing to you, so that, when I came, I wouldn’t have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy would be shared by all of you.

They told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said to them. When he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob, their father, revived.Israel said,“ It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”

Israel said to Joseph,“ I didn’t think I would see your face, and behold, God has let me see your offspring also.”

sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. Then they accompanied him to the ship.

since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.For indeed he was sick, nearly to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.
