Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

约瑟备好座车，上歌珊去迎接他的父亲以色列。他见到父亲，就伏在父亲的颈项上，在父亲的颈项上哭了许久。以色列对约瑟说：“我见了你的面，知道你还活着，现在我可以死了。”

我曾把这事写给你们，免得我到的时候，那该令我喜乐的人反倒令我悲伤。我也深信，你们众人都以我的喜乐为自己的喜乐。

他们就把约瑟对他们所说一切的话都告诉了他。他看见约瑟派来接他的车辆，他们父亲雅各的灵就苏醒了。以色列说：“够了！我的儿子约瑟还活着，我要趁我未死之前去见他。”

以色列对约瑟说：“我没有想到能够见你的面。看哪，上帝还让我看见你的儿子。”

叫他们最伤心的，就是他说“以后不会再见到我的面”那句话。于是他们送他上船去了。

他很想念你们众人，并且极其难过，因为你们听见他病了。他真的生病了，几乎要死。然而上帝怜悯他，不但怜悯他，也怜悯我，免得我忧上加忧。
