Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

約瑟備好座車，上歌珊去迎接他的父親以色列。他見到父親，就伏在父親的頸項上，在父親的頸項上哭了許久。以色列對約瑟說：「我見了你的面，知道你還活着，現在我可以死了。」

我曾把這事寫給你們，免得我到的時候，那該令我喜樂的人反倒令我悲傷。我也深信，你們眾人都以我的喜樂為自己的喜樂。

他們就把約瑟對他們所說一切的話都告訴了他。他看見約瑟派來接他的車輛，他們父親雅各的靈就甦醒了。以色列說：「夠了！我的兒子約瑟還活着，我要趁我未死之前去見他。」

以色列對約瑟說：「我沒有想到能夠見你的面。看哪，神還讓我看見你的兒子。」

叫他們最傷心的，就是他說「以後不會再見到我的面」那句話。於是他們送他上船去了。

他很想念你們眾人，並且極其難過，因為你們聽見他病了。他真的生病了，幾乎要死。然而神憐憫他，不但憐憫他，也憐憫我，免得我憂上加憂。
