Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

約瑟套上了車，上歌珊去迎接他父親以色列；謁見他，伏在他脖子上，在他脖子上直哭。以色列對約瑟說：『這一次我既得見你的面，知道你還活着，我死也甘心了。』

而我所寫的正是要避免我來到時、該叫我喜歡的人反而讓我憂愁；我深信你們眾人，我準知道我的喜樂就是你們自己的喜樂。

他們便將約瑟對他們說的一切話都對他說。他們的父親雅各看見約瑟打發來要載他的車輛，心靈就活起來。以色列說：『夠了；我兒子約瑟還活着；我未死以前一定要去看他。』

以色列對約瑟說：『我想不到得見你的面，你看，上帝竟使我看見你的兒子呢！』

最傷心的是為了他說、他們必不得以再見他的面那句話。於是送他上船去了。

因為他已在切慕着你們眾人呢，並且因你們聽見他病了、他就極其難過。他也真地病了，將近於死的；然而上帝憐恤他，不但憐恤他，也憐恤我，免得我憂上加憂。
